2026 review

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched like a true ace all year: a 2.53 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in 185.0 IP, with a 25.7 K% and a 5.9 BB% over 708 BF across 28 starts, going 14-9 for LAD. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 23, he finished 22nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 1 spot above, and 3rd of 236 starting pitchers. His 2.53 ERA ran 0.41 below his 2.94 xERA over 708 BF. The TDK LABS card flagged a command blip in early May after a season-high walk total, but by late May it had the ace read fully intact, and a shutout streak in early Jul reinforced it. By late Sep the card was calling him a front-line ace with a dominant strikeout rate and pristine command.
