2026 review

Zach Cole was a power-only bat who couldn't make contact: he hit .157/.189/.353 with 3 HR over 51 AB, a 39.6 K% and a 1.9 BB% over 53 PA for HOU across 19 games and 14 starts. He shuttled through the season, optioned Mar 25, recalled May 4, optioned May 26, recalled Jun 2, and optioned again Jun 4, playing 18 games for 53 PA in May and just 1 game for 0 PA in Jun. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 950, he finished 1294th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 344 spots below, and 72nd of 93 left fielders. The TDK LABS card tracked the swings in his case: in early May it had him as a real role after a debut homer, by mid-May it had him as an active lefty bat in a strict platoon, and by early Jun it had him back down as a reserve outfielder without a everyday job despite the power window.
