2026 review

Zach Maxwell worked as a power arm out of the CIN bullpen, posting an 8.31 ERA and 2.15 WHIP in 13.0 IP across 12 games, with a 17.9 K% and a 14.9 BB% over 67 BF, 3 HR allowed, and 1 SV and 1 HLD mixed in. CIN optioned and recalled him repeatedly across the year, shuttling on Mar 21, Apr 30, May 2, May 3, May 4, May 23, Jun 22, Aug 17 and Aug 21, with his heaviest workload in Jun at 6.1 IP over 7 games. Taken in only 56 of 674 drafts at ADP rank 965, a rare pick, he finished 1018th of 1472 overall and 667th of 811 pitchers, 506th of 575 relievers. The TDK LABS card had him as bullpen churn from the start, and by mid-Jun it still had him as a power arm on a committee staff with no save path, a read that held through his Aug 21 recall as a compressed, no-leverage middle-inning arm.
