2026 review

Zach McCambley was a shuttle reliever who barely settled in one place: he posted a 4.05 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 13.1 IP across 11 games, with a 23.3 K% and a 10.0 BB% over 60 BF. MIA returned and then outrighted him in late Mar, he was traded from MIA to CIN on May 21, CIN selected his contract Jun 2, and he shuttled between the majors and the minors on Jun 10, Jun 26, Jun 30, Jul 30, Aug 11, Aug 17, Aug 18 and Sep 19. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 698th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 312th of 575 relievers. The TDK LABS card read on him barely moved: in early Jun, right after the roster swap, it pegged him as a marginal middle-innings arm without a real path to high-leverage work, and by late Sep it was still describing him the same way, a fill-in reliever whose modest strikeout and control numbers left him without a save or hold role.
