Left hip/abdominal inflammation put him on the 10-day IL retroactive to Apr 16, he took rehab assignments Apr 30 and May 2, and he was activated May 5 after missing 19 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 333, he finished 1031st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 698 spots below, and 42nd of 79 right fielders. The contact quality sat at the bottom of the league: over 307 BBE his 2.0 Barrel% was the 7th lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA and his 22.5 HardHit% the 8th lowest of that same group. His .265 wOBA ran 19 points below his .284 xwOBA over 423 PA, and his best month was Jun at .243 over 74 AB against a .123 May over 65 AB. The TDK LABS card had the hip cloud lifted in early May, a flexible utility bat on a contact streak against righties by late Aug, and a shrinking platoon role by late Sep as the bench time against lefties piled up.
