2026 review

Zack Wheeler was a strikeout-heavy starter for PHI, 28 games and 28 GS, posting a 3.00 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 162.0 IP, a 29.9 K% and 7.3 BB% over 645 BF, going 14 W and 5 L. He opened the year on the 15-day IL, retroactive to Mar 22, for right shoulder surgery, took rehab assignments, and was activated Apr 25 after missing 31 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 132, he finished 77th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 55 spots above his ADP rank, and 16th of 811 pitchers, 11th of 236 starters. His 29.9 K% over 645 BF was the 44th highest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. His best month was Jun at a 1.71 ERA in 31.2 IP, and his worst was Aug at a 6.26 ERA in 27.1 IP. The TDK LABS card's read moved with him: velocity down versus his pre-IL form in early May, an elite June, one bad night inside a stellar season by Aug 10, and by late Sep a strong strikeout arm finishing out of a good recent stretch.
